Grande, fine, complètement couverte et pourtant sexy, j’ai aime le look d’Anya Fleet que je ne connaissais pas jusqu’alors. Collants, chaussettes et ptites salomes, j’ai tout particulièrement apprécié ce mélange de poupées anciennes et allure de jeune créateur contemporain monochrome, absence d’imprimés et jeu de volumes et matières. Et finalement c’est exactement la même chose que j’ai ressenti en voyant ses créations.

Tall, slim, all covered up but still sexy, I really liked Anya Fleet’s look who I hadn’t met until now. Tights, Socks, and little ‘Salomes’ I especially enjoyed the mix of vintage dolls and an allure of monochrome young contemporary designer, lack of prints, and the use of volumes. It’s exactly the same feeling I got when I saw her work.

On aimait Jajo ou encore Nana a Nevet Tzedek… Voila aujourd’hui le dernier né des bars a vins, Par Derrière. Cache ‘derriere’ un des ces vieux immeubles de King Georges street, on découvre un merveilleux jardin, a la déco éclectique. Par moments on ne sait plus distinguer ce qui appartient au décor de ce qui appartient au voisinage. Tellement il s’intègre a son environnement on croirait presque a un décor de theatre en regardant les facades intérieures des immeubles alentours.  Par Derrière c’est aussi une véritable expérience gustative, un excellent choix de fromages et un gateau au chocolat qui me fait encore saliver!! Allez y et dites moi ce que vous en avez pense…

We liked Jajo and Nana in Neve Tzedek…let’s welcome today the latest addition to the wine bar list, Par Derriere. Hidden behind one of those old buildings of King George Street, we discover a beautiful garden with an eclectic look. At times, we cannot distinguish what belongs to the bar and what belongs to the neighboring buildings. It has mixed so well with the environment that the surrounding building facades around the courtyard really give a theatre decor feeling. ‘Par Derriere’ is also a great culinary experience, an excellent and complete cheese selection and a chocolate cake that makes me drool!! Go there and let me know what you think…

L’Ecole de photographie Studio Grava investit aussi le chouk Apichpichim de Yaffo a l’occasion de son exposition de fin d’annee. Le chouk est definitivement devenu ‘The Place To Be’!!! Des oeuvres et des artistes des plus passionnants y sont representes mais ce qui nous arrete particulierement c’est la maniere dont a ete agence ce hangar. Des dizaines de rouleaux de cellophane ont ete utilises et tendus, reliant chacun des pilones, pour suspendre les oeuvres aux ‘murs’. Juste aerien et delirant!!!

The ‘Studio Grava’ Photo school has also invested itself in the Jaffa Shuk Apishpishim for the students’ year’s end expo. The shuk has definitely become “The hot spot”!!! The most fascinating artists expose their work but what strikes us the most is the way the hangar has been set up. Dozens of cellophane rolls have been stretched, connecting pillars to one another, used to hang the art pieces to these ‘walls’. So airy and mad!!!

Une amie m’a demande quelques adresses a Tel Aviv, jeunes designers, restos, vintage… Pour toi L. quelques petites infos en images. Le chouk Apichpichim de Yaffo est devenu un must, il faut aussi faire un stop et se désaltérer dans le cute cafe Pouah. Je ne me lasserai pas de répéter combien le Gan Ahachmal est le ‘Meatpacking district’ de TLV, alors surtout ne pas faire l’impasse dessus! La rue principale, c’est Arakevet street, les meilleurs jeunes designers s’y trouvent. Apres ces journees de marche ou de velo, parce que oui TLV c’est LA ville qu’il faut faire a velo; on decompresse ( on est si stresse a TLV!!) a l’Abraxas, bar electro rock, a l’angle de Nihalat Benyamin Street et Lilenbloom Street; et on reprend de plus bel dans les meilleures boites d’electro de la ville: Cats and dogs (Carlibach Street) et Pinguin (Arakevet Street)

Oups! On a oublie de se nourrir dans tout ca! Alors juste trois excellentes adresses pour etre sélective: Coffee Bar, Hararutsim Street; Joz v’Luz, Yehuda Alevi 51 et Hotel Montefiore (plus fancy), Montefiore street / Yavne Street

A friend of mine recently asked me for a list of spots in Tel Aviv, Young Designers, Foodings, Vintage….so, for you L. I put words into pictures this time, The “Shuk Hapishpishim” in Jaffa is a must, where a detour by Cafe Pua is imperative to enjoy a fresh drink. I can’t stop telling you guys how the “Gan Hachashmal” area is the Tel Aviv “Meatpacking District”, so also a must not miss! The main street, Rechov Harakevet, are where the best young designers have set camp. After days of walking and cycling, because yes! Tel Aviv is the bycicle town; we chill (Tel Aviv is so stressful ) at the Abraxas, an Electro Rock Bar, sitting at the corner of Lillenblum Street and Nahalat Binyamin; And then we’re off again to the best electro vlubs in town : Cats and Dogs (Locals call it Haratul ve Hakelev) on Carlibach and The Pinguin on Harakevet.

Oooops….We almost forgot to eat! To make it short and definitly worthwhile : The Coffee Bar on Hararutsim Street, Joz v’Luz on Yehuda Halevi 51 and Hotel Montefiore (more fancy), on Montefiore Street

Au coeur du Gan Ahachmal, qu’on peut définitivement appeler, le Meatpacking district de Tel Aviv, se trouve le showroom de Rubystar, cette jeune créatrice de bijoux. Ici les bijoux sont presentes dans des vitrines de bouchers, ou accroches sur des harnais a viande…Une véritable chambre froide de boucher ou l’on découvre des pièces délicates, féminines a souhaits et précieuses. La beauté de ces créations reside dans la recherche du détail, au millimetre pres, avec une nouvelle collection autour de vieux mécanismes de montres. C’est le cas de le dire, Rubystar keeps us Curious!!!!!
